HOW TO PLAY
1
Deal nine cards to each of the four players, seated with partners across from one another.
2
The dealer's neighbor chooses the trump suit for the hand, or opts for a no-trump or all-trump variation.
3
Players play one card per trick, following the suit led when possible, though trump cards can be played at any time.
4
In trump suit, card rank order changes so the jack and nine are the strongest cards, unlike other suits.
5
The highest card of the suit led wins the trick unless beaten by a trump, and the trick winner leads the next one.
6
After all nine tricks, tally each team's card points plus bonuses for the last trick; the team with more points wins the hand.
