MATERIALS
- A long rope, or a length of sturdy rope with ribbons tied along it to stand in for a net
- Soft objects such as bean bags to represent the catch
HOW TO PLAY
1
Scatter soft bean bags across the play area to represent fish caught in the sea.
2
Have all players line up along the length of the rope, spaced evenly apart, at one edge of the play area.
3
On the signal, everyone walks backward together in a steady rhythm, sweeping the rope inward to gather the scattered bean bags.
4
Call out a chant or song to help the group keep their steps and pulls in unison.
5
Continue pulling until the rope and its gathered catch reach the shore or finish line.
6
Count the bean bags gathered together and celebrate the team's total catch.
