SETTING

MATERIALS
- A traditional recurve bow
- Blunt-tipped practice arrows
- A distant target mound
MEASUREMENTS
Traditional shooting distance is roughly 145m to the target mound.
HOW TO PLAY
1
Stand at the shooting line and nock an arrow, drawing the bowstring back using a thumb ring rather than a finger release.
2
Aim at the distant target, accounting for the long shooting distance and any wind.
3
Release the arrow smoothly, following through with your form rather than dropping your bow arm.
4
Retrieve arrows only when it is safe and the group agrees shooting has paused.
5
Score based on how many arrows land within the target area across an agreed number of ends (rounds of shots).
