PLAYERS
2+, individuals or teams
DIFFICULTY
SETTING
Outdoor
MATERIALS
- A gilli (small tapered wooden stick, ~4in / 10cm)
- A danda (longer wooden stick, ~2ft / 60cm)
HOW TO PLAY
1
Balance the gilli over a small hole or brick and strike it with the danda to pop it into the air.
2
While airborne, hit the gilli as far as possible.
3
The opposing player tries to catch the gilli in the air to get the striker out.
4
If not caught, the distance the gilli traveled is measured in danda-lengths and added to the striker's score.
5
Players switch roles after an out or an agreed number of turns; highest score wins.
