HOW TO PLAY
1
Two wrestlers face each other inside a circle of onlookers who clap and sing to set the pace of the match.
2
Each wrestler tries to grip the other's waist, wrapper, or arms to gain control without striking or kicking.
3
A match is won the instant one wrestler forces any part of the opponent's body other than the soles of the feet to touch the ground.
4
Common techniques include hip throws, leg sweeps, and sudden lifts, and intentionally striking the opponent is not allowed.
5
Matches are typically contested in a best-of-three format inside the circle.
6
The overall winner is celebrated with singing and drumming from the surrounding crowd.
