Forty and Fabulous Advice Auction

Before the party, have guests anonymously write one piece of life advice for the next decade on an index card.

Shuffle the cards and give every guest an equal amount of play money or chips.

Read each card aloud without revealing the author, then open brief bidding where guests spend chips to win the card.

The highest bidder keeps the card as a printed keepsake for the guest of honor.

Once all cards are auctioned, present the full winning set to the birthday guest.
