Fijian Meke Dance Challenge

Choose a simple story or theme, such as a fishing trip or a welcome ceremony, for the group to act out.

A lead dancer demonstrates a short sequence of hand and hip movements that represent part of the story.

The rest of the group copies the sequence together, keeping time with the drumbeat or clapping.

The lead dancer adds a new movement segment every round, building a longer combined sequence each time.

Finish when the whole story has been told through the completed chain of movements, performed together as a group.
