DIFFICULTY
SETTING
Outdoor
MATERIALS
- A rubber or tennis-style ball
- A wooden bat or stick
- Marked bases around a field
MEASUREMENTS
Open field with a batting area and a marked boundary or run circuit
HOW TO PLAY
1
Split into two teams, one batting and one fielding, and mark a batting spot and a running circuit around the field.
2
The fielding team's bowler throws the ball underhand toward the batter, who tries to hit it with the bat.
3
After a hit, the batter runs the marked circuit while fielders retrieve the ball to stop further running.
4
A fielder can get a batter out by catching a hit ball before it touches the ground or by hitting the batter with the ball while they are between bases.
5
Each completed circuit run without being put out earns the batting team a run.
6
Switch team roles after an agreed number of outs or overs, and the team with more total runs wins.
