DIFFICULTY
SETTING
Outdoor
MATERIALS
- Weighted ice stocks (puck-like sliders with a handle)
- A target marker (the 'daube')
MEASUREMENTS
Played on a prepared ice or synthetic lane roughly 100 feet (30m) long.
HOW TO PLAY
1
A small target marker is placed at the far end of a long ice or synthetic lane.
2
Players take turns sliding their weighted ice stock down the lane, aiming to stop it as close to the target marker as possible.
3
Players may also aim to knock an opponent's stock away from the target while leaving their own closer.
4
After every stock has been slid, the player or team with the closest stock to the target scores a point for each of their stocks nearer than the opponent's best one.
5
Several rounds are played, sliding from alternating ends, and the highest total score wins the match.
