Eightsome Reel

Four couples form a circle, alternating men and women, and join hands to circle left and then right.

Each woman in turn dances into the center of the circle while her partner claps, then returns to her place.

The four men then repeat the same figure, dancing into the center in turn.

Couples pair off to perform a set sequence of turns, reels, and promenades around their own square.

The whole set joins hands again to circle as one group, marking the end of the figure before the dance repeats from the top.
