One team spreads out in the middle of the court while two small groups from the other team stand on the end lines, the "two fires."

Players on the end lines throw the ball across the court trying to hit the players caught in the middle.

Middle players dodge, duck, or catch incoming throws, and a caught ball does not count as a hit.

A middle player who is hit below the head is eliminated and moves out to join one of the end-line throwing groups.

The last player remaining in the middle wins that round, and teams then swap positions to play again.
