Duck on a Rock

Balance one player's small stone, the 'duck,' on top of the large rock or stump.

That player is chosen as the guard and stands near the rock to defend it.

Other players take turns throwing their own stones from a marked distance, trying to knock the duck off the rock.

After throwing, each player must retrieve their stone and return to the line before the guard tags them, unless the duck has been knocked off, in which case the guard cannot tag anyone until it's replaced.

A player tagged by the guard while their stone is on the ground becomes the new guard, restarting the round with a fresh duck.
