Doppelkopf

Deal twelve cards to each of the four players.

Teams are usually determined secretly by who holds the two queens of clubs, keeping partnerships hidden until revealed by play.

Players take turns playing cards to a trick, following suit when possible, with certain cards always counting as trump.

The highest trump, or the highest card of the suit led if no trump is played, wins the trick and leads the next one.

After all tricks are played, add up captured card point values; the team with the most points wins the hand.
