MATERIALS
- A biased bowl per player
- a small white target ball (the jack)
- a grass green with a raised crown
HOW TO PLAY
1
A player rolls the small white jack out onto the green to set the target for the end.
2
Players take turns rolling their biased bowls, aiming to curve them around the sloped crown of the green toward the jack.
3
The bowl's bias makes it curve rather than run straight, so players must judge the green's slope with every roll.
4
Once all bowls are played, the bowl nearest the jack scores a point for its owner, plus one more point for each of their bowls closer than the opponent's nearest.
5
Players move to a fresh position on the green and repeat for the next end until an agreed score is reached.
