Crazy Eights

Deal 5-7 cards to each player; place the remaining deck face down and flip the top card to start a discard pile.

On your turn, play a card from your hand that matches the rank or suit of the top discard, or play any 8 to change the active suit.

If you can't play a valid card, draw from the deck until you can play, or pass if the deck runs out.

Playing an 8 lets you declare a new suit for the next player to match, regardless of the 8's own suit.

The first player to empty their hand wins the round; tally points from cards left in opponents' hands if playing multiple rounds.
