Cook Islands Ura Drum Relay

Split the group into a line of drummers and a line of dancers facing each other.

The lead drummer starts a fast repeating beat that the dancers respond to with quick hip and step movements.

Every few beats, the lead drummer passes their drum to the next drummer in line, who must pick up the exact same rhythm without a pause.

Dancers keep responding continuously, adjusting smoothly as the drumming hands change.

The relay ends once every drummer has had a turn leading, finishing on one shared final beat with the dancers striking a pose.
