MATERIALS
- A small ball
- Ten small sticks or chopsticks
HOW TO PLAY
1
Scatter the ten sticks on the ground or floor and toss the ball straight up with one hand.
2
While the ball is in the air, quickly pick up one stick with the same hand before catching the ball again.
3
Repeat the toss-and-catch pattern, picking up two sticks at a time on the next round, then three, increasing each round until all sticks are gathered.
4
Players usually chant a rhyming counting verse in time with each toss to keep the rhythm steady.
5
If the ball is dropped or the wrong number of sticks is picked up, the turn passes to the next player at that same stage.
