MATERIALS
- Horses
- A long wooden mallet for each rider
- A small lightweight ball
- An open field with a goal marker at each end
MEASUREMENTS
Traditionally played on a long open field with a goal area at each end; can be scaled down for a casual demonstration match
HOW TO PLAY
1
Split riders into two teams, each defending one end of the field.
2
Riders use their mallets to strike the ball while on horseback, working it down the field toward the opposing goal.
3
A goal is scored when a rider drives the ball past the marker at the opponent's end.
4
Players may block opposing riders' paths but must avoid dangerous collisions between horses.
5
The match is divided into timed periods, and the team with more goals when time runs out wins.
