MATERIALS
- A wooden board with two rows of pits (often eight per row)
- Small seeds or pebbles
HOW TO PLAY
1
Fill each pit on the board with a starting number of seeds, commonly two per pit.
2
Choose a pit on your side, scoop up its seeds, and sow them one at a time into successive pits around the board.
3
If your final seed lands in a pit on your opponent's side that now holds an even number of seeds, capture that pit and continue capturing backward through any other pits that also end at an even count.
4
Players may also build up large piles in a single pit before releasing them in one long sowing move to set up bigger captures.
5
Play continues until one player's row is completely empty, at which point remaining seeds go to their respective owners.
6
The player who has captured the most seeds by the end wins.
