MATERIALS
- A large, round, smooth stone or heavy marble per player
- A long, shallow trench or cleared dirt lane with two goal posts marked at each end
HOW TO PLAY
1
Mark two goal posts at opposite ends of a long dirt lane or trench.
2
Players or teams take turns rolling their stone underhand from one end toward the far goal post.
3
After everyone rolls, the player or team whose stone lies farthest from the goal rolls next, aiming to knock closer stones out of position or move ahead.
4
A stone that strikes the goal post scores a point for that player or team.
5
Continue taking turns from wherever each stone comes to rest, alternating direction between the two goal posts each round.
6
Play to an agreed number of points; the first to reach it wins.
