Lay out the cross-shaped cloth board and place each player's pieces at their own starting arm of the cross.

On your turn, toss the cowrie shells; count how many land mouth-up to determine your move total.

Move one of your pieces that many spaces along the marked path, traveling around the cross toward the center.

Landing on an opponent's piece sends that piece back to its own starting point.

Certain squares act as safe spots where pieces cannot be sent back.

The first player to move all four of their pieces completely around the board and into the center wins.
