MATERIALS
- A grid board divided into equal squares
- Sets of playing pieces representing infantry, cavalry, elephants, chariots, and a king for each player
- A four-sided die
HOW TO PLAY
1
Each player sets up their pieces along one edge or corner of the board, depending on whether two or four are playing.
2
Players take turns rolling the die, which determines which type of piece may move that turn.
3
Each piece type moves in its own distinct pattern across the board, similar in spirit to modern chess pieces.
4
Landing a piece on a square occupied by an opponent's piece captures it and removes it from play.
5
A player wins by capturing the opposing king, or by eliminating all of an opponent's pieces.
