MATERIALS
- A stick or flat piece of wood to use as a bat
- A ball made from a crushed and bound tin can or tightly wound rags
HOW TO PLAY
1
Two teams of two players each take turns batting and fielding, similar to a small-sided cricket match.
2
The fielding team throws or bounces the ball toward the batter, who tries to strike it as far as possible with the stick.
3
After hitting the ball, the batting pair runs back and forth between two marked points to score runs before the fielders retrieve the ball.
4
A batter is out if the fielding team catches a struck ball before it touches the ground, or hits a marked base with the ball before the runners complete a run.
5
Each pair bats for an agreed number of turns or until both batters are out, then the teams swap roles.
6
The team with the most runs scored across their batting turns wins the match.
