Cartagena Champeta Dance Freeze

Dancers spread out and move to the fast, energetic champeta beat with loose hips and footwork.

The music leader watches for a burst of especially good dancing and calls out that dancer's name for a bonus point.

Without warning, the leader cuts the music, and every dancer freezes on the spot.

Dancers caught still moving after the cut lose their turn for that round.

After several rounds, the dancer with the most bonus points and clean freezes wins.
