MATERIALS
- A flat metal or wooden throwing disc per player
- A wooden or bone peg (the 'calvo')
- A small mound of packed earth to hold the peg upright
MEASUREMENTS
Players throw from a line set roughly 15-20 paces back from the earthen mound holding the peg.
HOW TO PLAY
1
Set the peg upright in the mound of packed earth at one end of the throwing area.
2
Each player takes turns tossing their disc underhand from behind the marked line, aiming to strike the peg.
3
Knocking the peg completely out of the mound scores a point, with a bonus point if it lands beyond an agreed marker.
4
If a player's disc comes to rest closer to the fallen peg than any rival's disc, they earn an extra point for that round.
5
Players reset the peg after every round and continue for an agreed number of rounds, and whoever has the most points at the end wins.
