DIFFICULTY
SETTING
Indoor
MATERIALS
- A standard 52-card deck
HOW TO PLAY
1
Deal all 52 cards evenly, 13 to each of the four players, seated in two facing partnerships.
2
Players bid in turn to set a contract: a suit (or no-trump) and a number of tricks the bidding partnership aims to win.
3
The highest bidder's partner becomes the "dummy" and lays their hand face up for their partner to play.
4
Players must follow the suit led if possible; the highest card of the led suit (or highest trump) wins each trick.
5
If the bidding side wins enough tricks to meet their contract, they score points; otherwise, the defenders score.
