- Spools of plain string
- A bowl of colored powder or paint for a safe, non-glass coating
- Rags or gloves
HOW TO PLAY

Explain that Basant kite festivals traditionally involve coating kite string for kite-fighting; this version uses only a safe colored coating for fun, never glass.

Split into teams and give each a spool of string and a bowl of colored powder mixture.

On "go," one player from each team feeds string through the mixture while a teammate winds it back onto the spool evenly.

Swap roles halfway through a set length of string.

The team that coats and rewinds their full length of string first, without tangles, wins.

Judge for even, unbroken color coverage as a tiebreaker.
