MATERIALS
- A set of sheep or goat ankle bones called asyks
- One larger or weighted bone used as the shooter, called a saka
HOW TO PLAY
1
Players arrange a group of small ankle bones in a cluster or line on the ground or a flat surface.
2
Each player takes a turn flicking or throwing their larger shooter bone at the cluster from an agreed distance, trying to knock target bones out of the marked area.
3
A bone knocked outside the marked boundary is won by the player who knocked it out and removed from the cluster.
4
Players may also earn extra bones if their shooter bone lands and comes to rest in a favorable upright position, depending on the local scoring variant in use.
5
Turns continue in order, with each player shooting at whatever bones remain in the cluster.
6
The game ends when no bones remain in the cluster, and the player who has collected the most bones is the winner.
