SETTING

MATERIALS
- A set of small sheep or goat anklebones (or store-bought replicas)
- A flat playing surface
HOW TO PLAY
1
Each anklebone can land on one of four distinct sides when tossed, and players agree beforehand on a point value for each side.
2
The first player tosses a handful of bones onto the surface and adds up the value of however they land.
3
On later turns, a player may instead toss one 'guard' bone into the air and try to flip over as many landed bones as possible to a more favorable side before catching the guard bone again.
4
Successfully flipping a bone before the catch lets the player claim its new, higher-value side; failing the catch ends the turn with no changes kept.
5
Players take turns for an agreed number of rounds, and whoever has accumulated the highest total score wins.
