MEASUREMENTS

The target typically starts around the height of the competitor's outstretched arm and is raised in small increments after each successful attempt.

HOW TO PLAY
1

The competitor sits on the ground and grips the opposite foot with one hand, holding the other foot's ankle, while balancing on the free hand and hip.

2

From this seated, one-handed brace, the athlete swings up and kicks a suspended target with the free foot.

3

After the kick, the competitor must land back down on the same single hand and the original kicking foot without falling over or touching down with anything else.

4

A successful attempt keeps the athlete in the round, and the target is raised slightly higher for the next try.

5

Athletes are eliminated when they fail to kick the target cleanly or fail to control the landing, and the competitor who clears the greatest height wins.

6

This event is one of the signature tests of balance and leg strength contested at Native Youth Olympics and Arctic Winter Games gatherings.
